EsoTerra Ciderworks to enter grape wine market with ‘The Arboretum’ (Durango Herald)

A 70-acre estate winery, called The Aboretum, is coming to La Plata County courtesy of EsoTerra Ciderworks owners Elizabeth Philbrick and Jared Scott. The cider maker has begun a crowdfunding campaign to raise $100,000 to build the winery’s infrastructure at 270 County Road 303 on Florida Mesa, southeast of Durango.

Carboy Winery Protects Hearts by Joining AED Program (Littleton Independent)

Carboy Winery in Littleton recently became the first Colorado winery to join a program that aims to protect the hearts and lives of wine-lovers. The program, “Trained for Saving Lives,” is run by a California winery called River Road Family Vineyards and Winery. When owner Ron Rubin suffered a cardiac emergency in 2009, a defibrillator saved his life. Now, it’s his mission to bring these lifesaving machines to wineries around the country.
