Fourth Time’s a Charm: Colorado Winery Nabs Best of Show (The Gazette)

After four years of knocking on the door of Colorado’s Governor’s Cup Collection, Palisade’s Sauvage Spectrum Estate Winery & Vineyard nabbed the Best of Show. The winery had made the “top wines” group in the Governor’s Cup Collection in 2021, 2023, and 2024. Of the 12 wines selected to comprise the 2025 Governor’s Cup Collection, Sauvage Spectrum received the Best in Show award for its 2024 Zweigelt (tsvai-gelt).

The Abbey Winery in Cañon City has won three international awards from the U.K.-based Decanter World Wine Awards. The Abbey, which was originally founded by Catholic monks in 2001, is the first in the state to win a silver award from the Decanter World Wine Awards, according to its database of past winners.
